We've posted more videos – this time those of our 2004 and 2005 performances at Diwali. Both of them linked off this page:

This includes our award-winning performance in November 2005. What a ways we came: in 2003 there were probably a total of 20 people, on stage and in the audience, from IIT Delhi. In 2005, we had the 3rd largest attendance across IITs, and had more than 25 people on stage for just the talent segment – which we won handily.

We had a very successful Panel Discussion on 'Product Innovation in India', on March 17. (More information on past events here). We assembled a really eminent panel, with panelists from three countries – US, UK and India (more information on our panelists here)
- BD Goel (Moderator), Group Director, Technology, PartyGaming, UK
- Sumir Chadha, Senior Managing Director, Westbridge Capital Partners, US
- Dr. Anand Deshpande, Chairman and Managing Director, Persistent, India
- Sandip Gupta, President and CEO, Ensim, US/India
- Ajit Nazre, Partner, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, US
- Shirish Netke, Head of US Operations and Chief Strategy Officer, Aztec, US/India
The panel started with comments by each of the panelists, who discussed the changing landscape in India, in terms of emerging opportunities for product companies in India. Sumir and Ajit talked about the investments they're doing in India, while Shirish and Sandip touched on how their companies do development in India. Anand described the way they run their operations in India, and BD commented on how PartyGaming relies on all-Indian development to run the 5th largest e-commerce site on the planet.
A lively discussion followed, with spirited opinions from all panelists. There was tremendous audience participation during Q&A – in fact, we found the allocated 1.5hrs too short; the event lasted around 2.5hrs!
Some notable quotes from our panelists:
These panels help Westbridge directly in adding great team members to our portfolio companies in India. In addition, after the last panel, we backed two of the IIT Delhi alums in the audience, to do a seed stage consumer internet company in India (not announced yet).
- Sumir, Westbridge CapitalI appreciate the opportunity to participate in the discussion. This was
an excellent forum for us to identify talent in the US and India.
- Shirish, AztecIt was great to hear new perspectives on this topic. There were many attendees who talked to me personally on ways to transition from being an engineer to becoming a PM. I personally believe there is a tremendous dearth of skills/experience in India for that role.
Hopefully Ensim will be remembered by the attendees as they consider their future moves.
- Sandip, Ensim
We recorded the panel for our alumni's use – click here to view the panel!
If you found the panel useful, there's only one way to ensure they keep happening – by letting us know! Or better still, come volunteer!

Welcome home!
March 19, 2006
First post – introducing the blog for the IIT Delhi community in the Bay Area! The Alumni Association has reached out to you – the alumni – in the past via newsletters, and word-of-mouth. This blog is an attempt to add another dimension to our interaction.
What will be post here? We don’t really know yet! I’ll start off with some information I’ve wanted to share, but didn’t want to burden the newsletter with. Hopefully, we can use this forum to get information relevant to you faster, and more on-demand (via newsreaders, instead of email)
Feel free to comment right here on the blog, or send email to us: iitd@macc.com (remove one c from macc)
